Senator's Office

I have posted a similar question in the Harvard Section but I just bumped it, ad maybe I’ll get a response here.

I think I very well may get an internship at my Senator’s Office in RI. Do you think Harvard should know if/when I do, and will it cause them to reconsider or review again, or something along those lines?

Thanks

Bump, please, anyone …

Bump again please

does harvard accept late materials, worse case, you send in a fax with new info- and they either ignore it or put in your file

But they do accept updates, right?

If you get it, send an update. You have nothing to lose by doing so.

Ok, thanks NSM

I think that having the senator write you a letter of recommendation would have more impact than just writing Harvard that you are doing an intership. But it certainly won’t hurt to send in supplemental info…

A letter from the senator wouldn’t help unless the senator happens to know you very well, which is unlikely.

Actually it’s not THAT unlikely… Rhode Island’s not a particularly large state.

That is true, RI is small, and I have met Senator Whitehouse twice, and hopefully he remembers me. But in no way does he know me enough to write a letter, and I wouldn’t want that, because it would seem like I would be throwing titles at Harvard to get in, which undermines their authority in the admissions process. If I do get it, should I just send them a letter, and that will be enough?
