<p>They’re required… If you don’t send them in, you’ll be rejected. Maybe you shouldnt apply to Princeton if you’re not smart enough to understand that :)</p>

<p>TOEFL is completely different than subject tests. It proves thpt you’re proficient in English to do well in college. Your friend probably proved pt throughout the rest of their application. Subject tests prove you are proficient at a subject, which are required.</p>
