Sending in SAT & AP scores

<li><p>College Board allows 4 free score reports during a “registration period” which is before the scores come out. If I take the SAT in October, would it be wise to utilize these score reports and send scores to colleges (that I would be applying to RD) in October?</p></li>
<li><p>Is self-reporting AP scores sufficient, or is it also recommended to officially send them in?</p></li>
