I have a 34 (36 reading, 35 english, 33 math, 30 science, 8 :(:(:( writing) on my act and a 2190 on my sat, which I took twice to get… but I also have a 770 on world hist and something (most probably, haven’t gotten the score back yet) above a 740 on my math ii’s, which I also took twice. I know my sat ii scores would probably help me, but I’m not sure if sending in 5 sat scores would just show that i’m a try-hard or something, lol. should I just submit the acts despite good sat ii’s?

When in doubt, please READ and UNDERSTAND Duke’s application instructions (<a href=“Apply - Duke Undergraduate Admissions”>Apply - Duke Undergraduate Admissions). They are unambiguous and readily available . . . and they clearly indicate that if you provide any SAT results (or any ACT results) you MUST provide ALL (SAT and/or ACT) scores for all examinations taken during high school. The foregoing policy is MANDATORY; applicants do not have the option to deviate from this instruction. By the way, in addition to this information being easily available on Duke Undergraduate Admissions’ website, it has also been repeatedly delineated in this CC forum (one could use CC’s archives to ascertain the applicable guidelines, as well).

@irishka My reading of your question is that you are fully aware of the rules regarding submitting scores, but you are asking if, in our opinion, you should send in just the ACT scores or also send the SAT and SAT subject test results. I really doubt that you will be rejected on the basis of your ACT and/or SAT scores no matter how many times you tested. Do whichever makes you more comfortable, but remember it is only one small part of the whole picture.

I wholly agree with @neogeezer 's conclusion.
