Sending in scores on the WL??

Hey,
I was just wondering - Im on Y’s wait list - are SAT 2 subject scores useful to send in? I took my SAT 2 french and spanish in Jan after I sent in my scores for Yale. But the scores were like 720 and 700 which aren’t that good as compared to my others - should I bother to send these in or would it just annoy the ad com ?

Thanks

I’m guessing that you didn’t tell collegeboard to automatically send your scores to Yale as part of the SAT registration process. You may want to find out if Yale accepts self-reported SAT scores.

As far as an OPINION about whether or not to send them…well, if you’re on the waitlist, it’s kind of “go for broke time”. If you do NOT send them in, will you always wonder if it might have made a difference? Is there anything else you can send along as supplementary material?

My D sent a cover letter, her updated 3rd quarter report card, update about an academic honor and a couple of local newspaper articles about her accomplishments. We know the chances are slim, but she wanted to know she’d done everything possible.

For what it’s worth…

Good luck!

I would not send them. By waitlisting you, Yale has said you’ve passed the basic academic hurdles (grades, curriculum, scores). Two more scores won’t change that, especially since they’re lower than the scores you submitted with your application.

Since those scores aren’t noteworthy, in light of your previous profile, then there’s nothing to gain, and they may even draw some negative attention to your campaign.
