<p>D2 lost her debit card at one of the airports on her way to Costa Rica ( she took three flights to get there).She is staying at a station in one of the National parks so doesn’t need much money yet other than what she took with her, but she will be staying longer than her study abroad program and I wanted her to have enough money to maybe rent a phone for a week or two ( or buy her mom a souvenir.

<p>I am going to use Western Union to wire her some funds, I think that is what I did when she needed extra money in India, but wondered if anyone had any experience with travel related mishaps that we could learn from. ( besides don’t schedule your trip with more transfers & layovers than necessary so you aren’t too exhausted to watch your stuff!)</p>
<p>( luckily, unlike India, where her whole purse was lost/stolen, her debit card was the only thing missing)</p>
