sending sat II scores

My son is a high school junior and he hasn’t taken his SAT or ACT yet. He has 2 mid 700 SAT IIs - US History and Bio. A lot of the schools he’s considering do not accept score choice - Johns Hopkins, GWU, Carnegie Mellon, Colgate. I was surprised at how many don’t. He’s registered to take the SAT next week (but he’s not really ready). Should he send SAT scores now to the schools that don’t accept score choice? Does that look too obvious? He may end up just submitting the ACT and then he could hide bad SAT scores.

Non-score choice schools say they will look at your best scores; I’d take them at their word. It’s going to be a lot easier and less confusing for both you and the school to do the testing and send whatever scores you decide to send at the same time as you send your applications. You don’t get points for sending in scores early. That was the advice we got from D’s college counselor.
