Sending sat scores help

okay im really confused

so we just tell cb to mail the score reports

but how does the college know which scores belong to who???

by social security # ???

if they had the scores for over a month, what does the admissions office do with them??

I don;t think most schools accept mailed transcripts.
But still, if they do, there will be names on the email, and presumably, on the transcript?

I’m not sure I understand the question.

You request that CB sends scores. Many colleges accept them electronically, they snail mail the others. That report has all your data on there, your name, yes…ss# if you provide it, address, etc. etc.

So, when the college receives this submission, they “match up” the data. I would think they’d START with your SS#, since that’s completely unique to you. Then I’m GUESSING that they’d verify the name, address, etc. Some kids didn’t use their SS # on their tests, that presents more of a problem in matching, and can cause small glitches.

I’m guessing you’re saying that you requested scores sent a month ago, and the college isn’t showing it received? I’m sure there are a number of reasons, and I’m guessing all you can do is phone or e-mail and ask them the status. But, at this busy time, you’ll probably hear “Don’t worry…we’ll get to it as soon as we can”.

For example, let’s say you applied Regular Decision, at a school that is currently working Early Decision applications (you didn’t go into detail). So your application would probably be put aside a bit. That said, you do still want to continue your follow up to ensure all materials are received.

Remember that it probably took a week for CB to process your request, then…if snail mail…a week to receive it. Then it probably goes unopened a few days to a week. Then gets on a data entry clerk’s desk the next week. Then put aside if it’s a regular decision applicant. Etc. I wouldn’t worry, just stay on top of it.

Good luck.
