If standardized test scores are sent to a college before you submit the application, is there any way to check to see if they have gotten them? Or do you have to wait until your application is sent and use the portal?
I would think that a student would have to start an application for the computer systems to link everything. Then eventually the student can check the “portal” to see if it arrived. So I’m thinking they don’t have to finish/submit their application to find out.
However, depending on when the scores were sent and when/how often the college/univ interfaces with the test score agency, it might take 2 weeks+ for systems to update and be seen in the “portal”.
If the deadline is close, contact admissions.
Sending scores early is fine…no worries.
You should be able to check with the College Board or ACT directly. They can tell you what date the scores were sent and by what method. Most colleges receive scores electronically, but others get them on disc sent via mail and others get them on paper thru snail mail. I believe electronic scores are sent almost immediately, but discs get sent only a few times per month
You can check your CB or ACT account for the status of your order. I sent D’s early, before completed apps, because delays creep into the system as the application season gains momentum.
Thank you all! I will check College Board.
