<p>This will be the last chances thread I’ll ever make, woo!</p>
<p>I’m getting ready to submit ALL of my apps within the next few days. Should I add a last-minute (financial) safety school? (If so, do you have suggestions? Does the school only want one teacher recommendation? My counselor says it will be no burden to send another SSR, but I only have one teacher “on call,” for lack of a better phrase.)</p>

From California, but didn’t get ELC. This wasn’t because I wasn’t qualified. I finally figured out it was because of incorrectly reported grades on my transcript. =(</p>
<p>High School:
Not the best, not the worst; everything depends on the class- sent 2 to UChicago last year, 5+ to Stanford/Harvard/etc. the year before
APs: 10 (12 offered, but two is not offered to me), 7 taken</p>

Rank: 13/425 (is probably higher—counselor sent a letter saying there was something wrong with the system)

<p>Abstract:
Essays: amazing; my teacher who is critical of every single detail loved it
Recs: praising
Activities: Best that I could do (family responsibilities which will be addressed). Lots of leadership (I’m, more or less, in charge of 350+ people, and indirectly responsible for 35,000 people) and volunteer work (250hrs). A variety of things, but two things that I like doing are apparent (volunteer club and graphic designing).</p>
<p>Other/Hooks?:
First generation
low, low income (dad on disability, mom making <15000 a year, family of 5); excelled academically when I could have turned to drugs/gangs?</p>
<p>Colleges:
I know my possible-but-not-probable reach schools (Stanford/Brown/Dartmouth/Amherst). </p>
<p>I was wondering if Tufts was a match or reach for me. (Also, are Cal and UCLA reaches or matches?. Both schools seem to like my school, since plenty of people with lower stats, talking 1800-1900s with no apparent hook, than me got in last year.)</p>
<p>Can I count on these as safeties/probables?
