Hello!
A little background information: I’m currently in my junior year of high school, and I have completely changed careers and majors. My original intent when going into high school was to major in biochemistry and eventually work my up to become a forensic pathologist. But after taking three science courses and struggling a bit with math, along with realizing I don’t want to be in school for 14-18 years, I decided to switch career paths and become a criminal profiler or criminologist. I have decided to double major in psychology and criminal justice when I get to college.
The problem is that I don’t know what classes I should take next year.
As of right now, I have these classes planned out for next year:
-AP Literature
-AP Statistics
-AP Chemistry
-AP Psychology
-AP US History
-Programming
-Sociology and Human Relations
The problem is that I also want to take criminal justice courses which are three hours everyday at the community college in my area. If I decide to do the criminal justice courses, I would have to get rid of three classes (AP Psychology, AP US History, and sociology/human relations). However, the criminal justice courses are needed for my criminal justice major (which include: Intro to Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement I and II, and Criminal Law and Society).
However, if I decide not to go with the criminal justice courses, I could get more knowledge in both majors since I’m majoring in psychology (AP Psych) and criminal justice (AP US History and sociology).
If I get accepted for the criminal justice courses, they are free of charge and I could get 12 credit hours completed once I finish my senior year.
My main concern is if taking the criminal justice course will be worth it in the end?
Note: I’m not really concerned with the workload since I’m currently taking four AP classes and maintain above an A in all of them.
