Senior in HS advice.

I’m a senior in High School wondering if I even have a slim chance of getting accepted into a 4 year university. I have a 1.88 weighted GPA due to some pretty extreme issues I have dealt with throughout high school. I scored a 22 on my act as well and will graduate with around a 2.1-2.2 gpa. The only thing that gives me hope is that on my schools naviance, it says students have gotten into some pretty reputable schools like, Stony Brook, Rutgers-Newark, Monmouth, with sub 2.0 gpas and similar test scores. I know the chances are quite slim. I applied to WVU, Monmouth and Quinnipiac with a recommendation from a Yale grad. Please give me feedback as I will not be offended by any opinions. Also if I do end up at community college, is it possible to transfer as early as a semester? or if I take summer classes to get credit.

You will need to have some sort of track record to transfer and if your ACT is 22, you will need to bring up your skill level substantially anyway. It depends where you want to go. If you are thinking about your state flagship or #2/3, you will need 1-2 yrs of excellent grades at a CC. You should check on the transfer paths first. You are better off honing your skills at a low cost CC designed to do just that.

I was thinking if I go to CC I would like to transfer to maybe Penn State, Rutgers or Umass Amherst.
