Senior loses father two days before graduation, gets a heartwarming surprise from classmates

<a href=“Grieving teen astonished by generosity of his fellow graduating seniors”>http://www.today.com/news/grieving-teen-astonished-generosity-his-fellow-graduating-seniors-2D79765890

I like to balance out the terror stories with good ones. At my core, I will always believe that there is far more good in this world than bad so I like stories that confirm my faith in humanity.

This one takes the cake for today. I can’t imagine the pain this young man must be going through but knowing he has the support of his community will help the healing process.

It sounds like a loving and supportive community. The young man sounds like a very nice, mature person. Thanks for sharing this!

I really wish the media would give more publicity to the heroes, like the young man who pepper sprayed the gunman to stop him from further violence, the young woman who invited the disabled classmate to prom, the many heroes in our life instead of giving so much press to awful actors and violent people. There is LESS violence these days, but you would never know it from the press.

Giving so much press to accused perpetuators (including publishing their ravings & rants) just encourages copycats and other mentally ill or violent people to go out and get their own moments of fame, at any expense so they can see their names in press regardless of the cost. We need to remember the heroes and the many acts of goodness and courage that occur every day!

Thanks for this post.

Thank you for sharing this story. I also believe there is far more good in the world than bad but we just don’t hear it as often as we need to keep believing in it.

Very nice! I like that tradition!

Aw - lovely!
