I am a junior (senior class of 2017) and I’m very confused about whether or not I should take tech school along with my other planned courses. My issue is about the intensity of my courses and maintaining a 3.0 GPA. I need tech school in order to obtain a stable job when I get out of high school and be able to support myself yet if I take tech school my schedule will be packed with hard classes(I’ve been seeing how the classes are through many teachers, students, and assignments given) therefore putting my GPA at risk and college acceptance on the line. Tech school takes up three periods at my school which would be replacing three electives for me.
Here’s how my senior year schedule would look with tech school:
1: tech school(patient care)
2:tech school(patient care)
3:tech school (patient care)
4:AP literature
5:anatomy and physiology honors
6:government and economics honors
7:precalculus honors
For college, I plan to study medicine to become a General practitioner and I am not sure yet what to major in but I’m thinking about majoring in biology.
I can switch taking precalculus to another elective but I’ve heard that Calculus is a prerequisite for medical school so I’m looking for a good mathematical foundation to start with since I am horrible with math. And if I take away tech school then I would have three dance class periods.
