I read another post about NU
and I forgot if it was for ED or RD… but it read that
NU doesn’t count extracurriculars for the senior year.

I am starting DECA (a team made up of students interested in studying business) this year as an upcoming senior … Will that ever be significant?
Also, I am taking two college courses during the school year (Fall semester)…
I won’t have the college transcript by the time I apply to NU if i apply as ED but
I will if I’m applying RD… Will they even look at that?

Agh!
collegecollegecollegeeeee
So stressful!!

just some general advice: don’t start extracurriculars just to boost your college application. if you do extracurriculars b/c you’re truly passionate about what you’re doing, then that will have value no matter when you start.

If you’re starting DECA because you’re super passionate about it, you could always include that in your essay. Otherwise, don’t worry too much about all of that. They don’t want to see that you’re trying to stuff your stats as much as you can.

I don’t see why senior year extracurriculars wouldn’t count. The Common App asks for them, plus I would think they would want to see senior year ECs to weed out the kids who blow off senior year. But then again, I’m not an admissions officer.

Good luck!

thank youuu ! and yes, I am passionate about DECA. Too bad i just recently found out about it… Our school doesn’t have it, so I am gonnna be starting it wooo! (=
thanks again haha
