*note this is a story of how an average joe made it through high-school and got into college. (im bored and decided to write this, Wont be sure if you care or not. this is not an essay or nothing just free writing.

Alright. So I’m basically your average joe. 3.3 gpa 1010 sat :(. Work 25 hours a week as a lifeguard. I do play sports though, Football,Soccer and Competitive Golf. I am from Alaska and all the colleges I applied to are out of state. With my mindset, I think the worst and was thinking I would not get in anywhere :(.
So i applied to a range of places around Dec 5th andall my applications and pathetic Sat scores were out. I applied toI had my well-written essays read but had not sent them out yet. I applied to Montana State, Northern Arizona, Washington State, Wyoming, Mesa State, UNLV and Arizona State. Pretty wide range of schools but all west-coast with WUE. One week after applying I got a letter from Montana State and I have not even sent out my transcripts yet (I sent them out around the 13th of december, right before break) and I thought it was just going to be a letter saying they need transcripts but It was a letter of acceptance along with WUE. I was thrilled!
I forgot to add this in the story, But life in high-school as a freshman and sophmore were rough. I just moved from Texas to Alaska as 8th grade ended and I was going to high-school from a totally different perspective of education, and People from Alaska believe texas to be steers, queers and hicks. Yea they would use the full metal jacket quote. I averaged a 2.7 both years. I started visiting cc around mid junior year and my gpa raised. Seeing all this crazy 4.5 gpa’s with 1590 Sat’s i decided to take ap’s and work harder. I started building stronger study habits and pulled off a good 3.5 gpa junior year. Now this year I am currently a senior and I took 5 classes, because I decided to take Late Arrival. I hardly studied for tests, but did all my homework and projects to the best of my ability. I took Ap Literature(a), Ap Govt(a), contemporary problems(a), precalculus(89.3 but he rounded so A) and then art which i got a 89.0 in because i used it as a social hour and the teacher was an ass. I made a big transition because my 9th and 10th grade year I took no honors or advanced classes. Just the basics and have grown into such a strong core of studies and organized my time management and study habits. This Is what i think college is all about. Time management, some say college is much harder but my guess is they don’t know how to manage there time and use there freedom from home to the fullest.

Well yea this was just a rant and for the record as of 1/23 im 5/7 on applications with 2 pending.
Currenlty accepted into all schools with WUE
Northern Arizona
MSU
Mesa State
Wyoming
Arizona State
Pending:
UNLV
Washington State

I have not visited any of these colleges yet and plan on majoring in business management with minor in entrenpeneurship (Spelling haha)
Still debating on grad school or not.
Most of you ccer’s are geniuses and Will Probably find this written free-write I just wrote up amusing because of my stats. I would just like to thank CC and all of it’s members for its presence. Somehow your insane stats motivated me, I researched some of your ideas and am doing very good in school.
I know none of the above colleges are ivy or even close but I know that i have the social skills and ability to not become a Johnny Pencilpusher witha 4.0 out of stanford.

ANother question instead of making a new topic…
What are the pro’s and cons of going to grad school besides the obvious
$ isnt to much of a problem to me and College will be great and the money after grad school should be Awsome.

Anybody with stats similiar to mine or even worse. Dont give up there is always hope. Take hard classes, hold a good job, write great essays and get a letter or two of rec.

Sry if this bores you all, I am sure its fairly long.Itleast im tired now and its 12:30 am
