Senior Year Grades

For Regular Decision applicants to Ivy League schools, how much would this matter?

For first semester of his senior year, he will most likely get

1st Quarter: B+ 2nd Quarter: B (AP class)
1st Quarter: A+ 2nd Quarter: A/B+ (Honor Physics)
Rest of the classes A/A+ in both 1st & 2nd quarter

This person also got a B+ as his final average in one class of junior year. The rest of his grades are all A’s/A+'s.

He has a strong SAT, relatively strong ECs, decent essays, and most likely good recommendations.

How much of an impact will the midyear report grades in the AP & Honors class matter?

Anyone have any opinions?

Your question is seriously detailed and no one can offer you anything besides guesses. What’s done is done. Opinion fishing is ultimately, a futile venture.

No one has a good chance when applying to schools in single digit or teens of admit rate. That’s just how it is.

Agree with T26E4, a question about this level of minutia can only be answered by WAGs. This really is more appropriately posted on the Chances than the Admissions forum.

No one can say. But the downward trend is not good. Is this “person” you…?
