How many classes should a senior take who is looking at more selective schools? Currently signed up for AP Bio, AP gov, AP Spanish, English honors and cp math. Has had rigor other three years and good grades. In school, classes are full for the electives wanted, but wondering if these five are enough or if it’ll look bad on applications
What other AP classes have been completed? Intended major?
What type of colleges are being targeted for applications?
AP Us history, AP Psychology
Intended major is history and biology
Colleges- still looking, but so far
Brandeis (top choice), Lehigh, Muhlenberg, American, U of Maryland
You’re good but you should take a sixth class, it can be a fun elective (culinary arts) or hard (art history).
I’d touch base with the guidance counselor at the school.
They’re not helpful. She says that graduation requirements are met so five is fine. Scheduling has made it difficult to find a sixth class. We were pushing philosophy but I don’t think it works. Currently enrolled in AP environmental science as sixth class
Philosophy would definitely be better than apes, but apes isn’t bad.
Six classes, even if one is not academic, is the expectation at very selective colleges as well as public honors programs.
