sentence completions reduce below 2 minutes?

Does anyone know how I can do the 5 sentence completion and 6 sentence completion questions in under 2 minutes? Are there any approaches for the double gap or single gap or general approaches to questions that you started using that allowed you to speed up considerably?

Thanks for the help- really need it

Sorry about the thread title; I didn’t check the grammar!

Really just process of elimination. If one of them for sure doesn’t work, eliminate the choice altogether

hmm. This is what I do for both single and double gaps but still I can’t get down to 1 min or less. I POE, pay attention to clue words and triggers etc, but I am missing something. How do people do it in 30 seconds lol

grasp the meaning of each sentence and see if 2 blanks have the contrasting meanings or not. There is no need for anticipation for sentence completion like what most books state. you really just need to have a strong foundation of vocab and then each question should take less than 20 seconds to do.

but people are doing 6 questions in 30 seconds.

If they are taking 2 minutes for 6 questions then I’m fine.

If you really know the vocab–and if you want a big score, you should–you can FLY through sentcoms. My finishing students do 8 in 1 minute (I know, I time them), which is a great advantage, saving extra time for long passages & line verification.

impressive - so is it just vocab then, or is there anything else I can do to increase my speed other than vocab

I have to say though the 8 question sentence completions are generally- I find- easier than the 5 sentence completions. This may be the case for only me, but I dont know why
