Did any one get a letter?

I think there’s a 95% that I’ll get rejected. The essay was minimum 500~600 (don’t remember) words, but I wrote only like 250.

UVA’s SEP is an awesome program. Everyone I know that has been involved has had a great experience. Respectfully, if you were serious about attending why did you not put the effort into the essay? SEP is a very selective program. With multitudes of students with high gpa’s, awards, volunteer service, extracurricular activities, etc., the biggest way they can weed out and select candidates is through the essay. They are not just looking for the students who are best ‘on paper’, they want students who think out of the box. You can only show this through your essays. In addition, I can not speak for this year as I do not have a student that applied this year, but in previous years there have been TWO essays required. If you actually wanted to attend I am sorry that you apparently did not put in the effort that is necessary for a highly selective program such as SEP. If you are not selected, try again next year putting the time and thought needed into the application. Your english teacher would be happy to review the essays. It is worth the effort! Good Luck!!
