<p>So, for those of you in the Class of '11, how are you spending your time, now that all your HS friends have left?</p>
<p>I only had the time to see my high school friends twice, briefly, after graduation before my parents whisked me off to spend the rest of the summer in Europe with them and my younger sister. I don’t have any friends my age here, and because of the time difference, I’ve hardly spoken* to anyone besides family since June… so as much as I love to travel, I’m feeling pretty desperate for social interaction at this point. September 9 (the first day that international students are allowed to move in) really couldn’t come sooner.</p>
<p>*instant messenger doesn’t count!</p>
<p>As for how I’m spending my time, I spent July in Geneva, Switzerland, and August in various parts of Sweden; I return to the United States September 1 and will spend the last week and a half in New York City, where my family is moving after six years in DC.</p>
<p>You sound starved for peer interaction! </p>
<p>My son (who wouldn’t be caught dead on CC) worked until last Friday. This week has been a festival of sad good-byes. Tomorrow we go to the Grand Canyon for a week, then he’s off to his DOC Trip, but then home again for nine days. Yech.</p>
<p>I have been working part-time, running a lot more, hanging out with friends, playing tennis. I started bowling a lot this summer compared to the usual once or twice a year, I’ve been going once or twice a week. Besides that, just whatever comes up with my friends.</p>
<p>That said, some have already left, and I’m still counting down days to go; it’ll be bittersweet – can’t wait!</p>
<p>I hope I am in the same situation next year.</p>
