<p>Does anyone know if being in a college’s middle 50% is good enough? Or are you supposed to be WAY above that?</p>
<p>Elbeeen, many people on this site say if your in the college’s mid 50% you have slim chances… They lie. If you have mid 50% your fine. Just spend your time writing your essays and such.</p>
<p>@Elbeen: You’re fine. Being in the 50th percentile won’t help you, but it definitely won’t hurt you, so you’re solid. Now you have to focus on essays/ECs/etc. Now there are going to be people who’ll say that you MUST be over the 75th percentile to have a chance, but they’re definitely wrong. 50% is 50%. Numbers don’t lie, so you’re in good shape!</p>

<p>I really don’t know! I took a class and she recommended reading 1 article out of the newspaper per day, and just thinking about what questions somebody could ask you about the article right then and there. I was thrilled with the 36 over a 26 XD</p>
<p>@timmycho0408… I thought the prompt was simple, wrote like 4 pages in the alotted time, and used a simple 5-paragraph formulaic essay format. Got an 11 on the April 2010 ACT, so a 12 was a minor boost…definitely helps though!</p>
