***SEPTEMBER 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

Got 31 on the writing section…not bad.

@galateaxx As far as I’m concerned no international student has received his or her writing score yet.

Are the writing scores released once daily, or continuously throughout the day?

Same here @cali60 what the heck, I thought they would be able to do priority, so sent in three scores today regular. Ugh, hope that doesn’t hold up the November 1 deadline. Let me know if you hear anything about how to access priority.

I also have the same question-- are writing scores being released throughout the day, or only in the morning (EST) ?!

ACT is filled with the most incompetent f*cks ever. Seriously, people got back their complete October SAT scores before I get my scores back, and I took the test a MONTH before. Also, the next ACT has already occurred. This is honestly pathetic.

Just checked in NY and I GOT A 36 in writing :). Happy I got a 36 in something but still sad i got an abysmal 30 overall.

Yup…ACT is a joke! Still waiting…pathetic.

Check this out,I posted this question to them on Facebook

Can you please answer this question…Why can’t you release a score report without the writing portion and follow up with an updated report when writing is complete. I will gladly pay for the extra reports. We are desperate here. Thanks.

ACT
ACT Hi, Evelyn. The reason we are unable to report multiple-choice scores apart from writing scores is that our scoring and reporting technology is not set up to release partial score reports. We are currently investigating the possibility of making this change.

@evelyn1 ACT makes so much money off of testers. How do they NOT have the resources to release our scores all at once? I still haven’t got my writing score, and November 1st is the deadline for many of my schools. I’m in the same boat as you.

That makes no sense. They released mine without the writing score, and then added the writing score a week later. What a waste the writing section is.

Got a 36 on the writing. How much does writing factor into the college admissions process?

I agree!!! It’s all so FRUSTRATING!!! My next daughter is going to take the SATS and if she gets a horrible score then apply to test optional colleges. This is such BS! I am staying away from this ACT organization. Spent more money on tutors and what not and she ultimately may not even be able to use the September score. Grrrr

@TheWaffleMan149 They post the multiple choice scores online and then add the writing score supposedly one - two weeks later. ACT will not send a report to the colleges until the writing portion is scored and everything is complete. Have heard this for weeks now from them.

30…abysmal…gotta love cc :frowning:

@evelyn1 Oh sorry, I thought that you meant that you wouldn’t be able to view them online until the writing came back!

I received my Composite score on September 30th… today marks exactly 4 weeks since then and I have yet to receive a writing score. This is absolutely unprofessional and irresponsible. I have already advised my friends who are Juniors to either test early or focus on the SAT.

ACT has created a terrible name for itself because of this dilemma. At this point all I can say is that at least November 6th is creeping up. Thankfully my November 1st deadline schools (Ohio State and Maryland) are allowing me to submit test scores after the deadline. Nonetheless I should have been done with my apps weeks ago! Never been more bamboozled in my life tbh

@bigtenhopeful34 how do you know maryland is allowing you to send scores later? Did you call/ask? Thanks

The College Board is able to both SAT scores AND subject test scores at the same time in about three weeks. The ACT really needs to learn something from them. If you’re going to take the ACT, TRY TO TAKE IT AT LEAST TWO MONTHS BEFORE YOU NEED THE SCORE.

@Resonated - Yes I called and asked. Admissions office said as long as I have some score on file, (sent a previous SAT and ACT just to be safe) then I am still eligible to send scores after the deadline. The lady who helped me put a note on my file. Same thing happened with Ohio State.
