***September 2016 ACT Discussion Thread***

Sleepy Hollow - posted around 8am or a bit after I think.

DD finally had scores this morning (in Bay Area, with accommodations). There was no indication at all last night (i.e. still “registered”).

At least it was worth the wait!!!

Same!!! I’m in OH, but have taken before and always gotten back 1st or 2nd group. I just talked with ACT and they assure me nothing is wrong. I’m sooooo frustrated!

Sorry to all those with no results yet. Unacceptable.

For those who recieved their scores on the 20th and their Writing scores this week, any idea how long before colleges that we listed will get them?

@STEM2017 for the September test without the writing scores, they were sent on the 19th.

English: 34
Maths: 33
Reading: 33
Science: 31

Composite: 33

Re-taking on October 22nd.

I’m Done

Unbelievable!!! No scores yet.
Happy for those who got theirs today… :((

I got a 34 (which is what I really wanted!!!) except a 29 in math. Will colleges look down on me for the 29? If so, I’ll retake in October no problem but I just really wanted to be done.

@stem2017. D got her composite score in the first batch and the writing the following Friday. I ordered her scores sent that day and one school has already confirmed receipt of scores.

I’ve taken the ACT three time now. After all the studying, my ACT Reading didn’t even improve by one point since the first time I took it. I’m also disappointed that math and science are lower than I expected them but to be, but I can survive with a 34 in Math.

E: 31
M: 34
R: 26 (Super: 27) :frowning:
S: 33 (Super: 35)

C: 31 (Super: 32)

Looks like I’m going to have to rely less on test stores in order to shine in my college applications! :)>-

Congrats to all those happy with their scores. For those who did well on science – what prep was most helpful?

@CA1543

I got a 36 in science in April (I wish I have that now), but basically I printed out around 20 Science tests and took them. I went directly to the questions and just looked at the graphs / tables. If it was completely necessary, I skimmed over the passages.

@hhjjlala - Where did you find 20 science tests?

crack ACT

Finally Got my scores today, not too mad but not satisfied at all (Aimed for a 32 and was one question off a 31)

C:30
E:30
M:32
R:31
S:28 (felt the most confident out of all the sections lol)

I usually get 34-35 on math but the September test had ellipses and advanced matrixes and other precal stuff that I have never learned, oh well. Something must have happened in the science, there’s no way I made that many silly mistakes as the section was so easy.
Congrats to the people who got their target scores and good luck to future takers, may we have the best of luck in our future endeavors!

I just want my writing scores now… ahhhh… :((

@CA1543
I scored a 33 on science and I did exactly what @hhjjlala did. Skip the reading and go straight to the questions. The science passages can be intimidating, but a lot of times most of the information is unnecessary. Find as many graph answers as possible, and then if you need info, skim the passage.

Finally got my scores (India - Int’l)
E 36
M 36
R 35
S 36

C 36!

No scores, status is still registered
