So I just got my essay score in, its a 10/12. Will a 36 C (36 E, 35 M, 36 R, 35 S) be a good enough score for any school WITH that essay score (I realize you can’t get better than a 36). I’m going into engineering and applying for schools that specialize in that sort of thing if that makes any difference.
how would i convert a 9 on the essay to the old scale (out of 36) because on the common app it still has the old scale
I was also wondering this. Also, how important is the essay score? I got a 36 composite 36 all except 35 reading but I got a 9/12 on essay. I’m early apping to a HYPSM school just for the context .
my mom just asked the Common App and they said to report on the 1-12 scale because colleges know ACT changed their scale agin, so I am listing my 9
@snowfairy137 @GettingRekt Are you guys for real? A 36 with ANY essay score will not exclude you from getting through ‘round 1’ at top schools. Showing in your app that you don’t know this type of thing, will get you excluded during round 2. Get real- go work on your essays.
not gonna lie. No matter how harsh that was i think i needed to hear that lol thnx
@suzyQ7 lol thanks, just checking. I’m not familiar with the essay score scale or how those scores are used :). And I’ll work on my essays next summer when I’m supposed to.

Anyone get scores today? Mine still says Registered.
I am still registered also…but holding out hope since folks saw their scores in the morning on Wednesday. I would say we have until 8 Central/9 EST to find out…good luck!!!
