Overall across the country, a great weather month. Apples and apple recipes. The start of fall foliage for those lucky enough to enjoy . The best outfit ever, shorts and a sweatshirt/hoodie/long sleeved tshirt. Fresh start with back to school. Football.

Much as I love New York, it has to be Earth Wind and Fire Day for me . I absolutely love that song.
Two years ago we went to a football game here ( U of MN Gophers) and the marching band featured that song in the halftime show. It’s almost 50 years old, but a classic.
Pecan cookies win the day for me. Although E W & F did take up a lot of turntable time on our apartment record player in college … so maybe they’re a close second.
Today is my son-law’s birthday! The EWF was the first song played at their wedding (after their first dance). They had a full band with brass - it got everyone up and on the dance floor!

When we first met, DH and I knew we were destined to be together. We had matching EW and F albums and also the same recording of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. Eclectic great taste in music.
I love the month. But HATE with a passion that song. The Ba-de-ya-de-de-ya lyric is so relentlessly boring to me that I banned the song from being played at my kids’ wedding receptions. I felt validated when in a wedding vendors podcast they said it was many vendors most despised song.
