Serious Problem.

My financial aid is due on august 13th and me and my mom just realized that our loan filled out on hesc.org says we are getting the loan from nelnet not people’s bank. Even though we picked people’s bank. We don’t know what to do because if we have to delete it we’ll be late with the payment.

Call your college and let them know.

nelnet is a company that handles federal student aid, not a “bank”. My student loans were through a bank, but distribution was done by nelnet. You can log into nelnets website and see how much you owe, when disbursements occur, what bank it is, etc. It’s along the lines of salliemae (another company that handles federal student loans).

yes, as the above said. you take a loan from a bank or other source, but then usually another company manages it, nelnet does it a lot, as does
AES, RISLA etc.
