Beginning next year, Seton Hall will offer a $210,000 discount to students who apply early and have at least 27 ACT and top 10% rank. This will bring the cost to that of Rutgers, according to the article. 16% of students would have qualified this year.

will try to ease that follow-up blow for early applicants with strong academic credentials, giving them two-thirds off the regular sticker price for tuition, a discount of some $21,000. For New Jersey residents, who comprise about 70 percent of Seton Hall’s undergraduates, that would make the cost equivalent to that of Rutgers University

The OP got the amount right in his title, but has an extra 0 in the body of his post.

Oops, you’re right, mom2collegekids. The discount is 21,000 not 210,000. I think it’s too late to edit the post

There was a time when Seton Hall didn’t have to do this,or worry about Rutgers…In the late 70’s ,early 80’s, the Hall was very well regarded…times have changed for them…

That must have been undergrad and with the mainstream US crowd.

One older relative caught much crap from undergrad classmates and acquaintances in the ROC(Taiwan) for getting her Masters from Seton Hall. They way they carped about it, you’d think Seton Hall University was the private version of what CCNY during its decline and nadir(late 1960’s till early '90s).
