Setting Up Plans for Graduate School...

So I already have my dream: Going to MIT for my graduate degree. (Yeah, set goal as high as possible)
I recently decided to go to USC, and I decided to set up for future plan as quick as possible… One thing I regret the most in high school year was coming into sense of admission in my junior year, which was kinda late.

I know GPA and GRE are important, so are recs and research experiences. Maybe Co-op or internship should help too right? How should I plan my college years so I can enjoy college experience and prepare for my future as well? Gosh I have so much to think for my future, including my service for Korean Army…

Start knocking on doors right away - the first week - and asking to join research projects. Find a faculty member or graduate student to be a mentor. By mid-year be writing your own research proposal(s) and apply for PURF (Provost’s Undergraduate Research Fellowship) and/or SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fund) so you have a research project by Summer 2012 funded (this REALLY happens. Seriously. Gotta love USC).
