Seven hotels in NYC for under $200/night

New York Magazine has listed a group of reasonably priced hotel rooms in NYC.

http://nymag.com/travel/features/34731/

Every so often I see a request for information about this. I have friends who stayed at the Hyatt Regency (right across the river) and loved it.

If you’re so inclined, we used Hotwire for the Hyatt across the river. It was about $110/night incl. taxes !!! (but not including parking fees). There’s not much around it, but the NJ train (subway) to either WTC or Midtown is literally right outside the Hyatt’s door. It was NICE!

Warning: You cannot select the hotel using Hotwire. When we bid, it was rather obvious since they list all the hotel features, and at the time we purchased, it was the only 4* hotel that other users ever were awarded, so we felt our chances of receiving the Hyatt were rather high. It is still a chance, however.

Thanks, elleneast, I will have to copy that article - great suggestions. I have family in NYC and often visit for holidays.

“On the Ave” looks very appealling.

Thanks!

jyber – We stayed at On the Ave two years ago and it was $300 a night. Also, the rooms are miniscule and there’s no restaurant or bar. The location, however, was great for us.
