Several People Killed by Truck at Berlin Christmas Market

Kepel is one of the foremost experts on Islamist terrorism.

Anis Amri was in a border camp in Italy and wasn’t accepted into Europe, so he set his room on fire and was sent to jail for it. He was supposed to be sent back to Tunisia except there’s been a lot of turmoil in Tunisia ( not just administrative) and the actual administration is not efficient, so he left jail and moved to Germany, where he applied for asylum seven times under different names and was turned down seven times. He was going to e expelled but Tunisia was taking its time processing the deportation forms. They sent those on Wednesday, ironically and sadly.
In my opinion it shows the European vetting process works well since he was turned down eight times including six with different names, and the authorities weren’t duped.
