Hey guys,

I’m an out of state student going to UCLA next year for engineering.

I honestly have no idea what I’m doing though

Everyone is posting about class numbers (MATH 12213ABC), which units they are taking, placing out with APs, etc.
But I feel kind of lost

I’ve signed up for an orientation session and payed my housing bill, is there anything else I need to be worried about right now?

I feel like everyone knows what to do except me, is there some beginner’s guide to UCLA out there? Or a guide for out of state students?

No worries, you should be all good to go. You’ll want to sign up for your Bruincard, which is UCLA’s official ID card, sometime before your orientation session, by going to bruincard.ucla.edu and following the directions there.

Just a few (hopefully) helpful links: Make sure you keep up with [New Bruins - Freshman New Student Checklist - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](<a href=“http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/NewBruins/NSG_Freshmen.htm]New ”>http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/NewBruins/NSG_Freshmen.htm ) – it gives you a list of things to do and when to do them. And [UCLA New Student & Transition Programs - Welcome](<a href=“http://newstudents.ucla.edu/]UCLA ”>http://newstudents.ucla.edu/ ) should have some good info too!
