<p>as a parent of older teens I can attest by empirical evidence that its not “what teens our age are doing”. Some girls feel compelled to send photos/videos of themselves, and invariably it backfires and more people than the intended recipient see it, and either one or both or all are suspended/expelled. Usually that happens to a girl that is really misguided and desperate for attention. Thankfully it has not become the norm that kids explore their bodies via sms. (and btw, and also empirically - over half the kids in private schools are sexually active by 11th grade, with over 3/4 of them engaging in “clinton sex” in 9th grade) Thats something that needs to be talked to with kids before theyre off to schools.
In terms of protecting yourself/doing the right thing – your kid will probably be shunned if he/she “blew the whistle” on the situation, so do it anonymously</p>
