Suspect is a University of Illinois student, according to the article in the Champaign/Urbana newspaper.
Plea bargained to six counts of rape by intoxication, got 20 year sentence. Note that the number of victims he had been suspected of raping from May to August 2015 had increased from four at the time of arrest in October 2015 to seven. All identified victims were in his home region, as opposed to the UIUC area. According to the police, “There is a possibility there are additional victims who came in contact with Jin that may have little knowledge of the events that transpired due to being sedated.”
