<p>How long does it have to be? When they ask about a specific global issue, how much detail do they want? Is it okay if I talk about nuclear proliferation in general?</p>

<p>You can be as general or as specific as you want to get. As long as you follow the prompt, go in whichever direction you want. They want to see what you do with the small amount of information they give you.</p>

<p>take a look at one of the past threads where all the admitted ea’ers listed there topics. there is a wide range of topics – broad, narrow, obscure, and well known.</p>

<p>I was accepted EA, and mine was 900 words crammed into one page with tiny margins. I was told that it’s really about showing what you know, so I’d say the more specific the better. At the very least cite specific examples.</p>
