I don’t exactly know where you are trying to go with that title. I used to live in the DC area and was in elementary school when the DC Sniper was happening. The DC Sniper was operating in broad daylight while these idiots did it under the closet of darkness. I remember being under lockdown when it happened and not being allowed to go outside for recess or even go outside unless it was for dismissal.

This is not at all like the DC Sniper. This Tulsa case seems to maybe be racially motivated while DC Sniper was claiming jihad on the USA. Whether whoever is behind the Tulsa case saw what is going on with Treyvon Martin’s case and thought he could pull a fast one and kill someone for no reason. Hopefully they are able to figure out motive quickly.

Yes, the title of the thread wasn’t the best. My apologies. It was only meant to express my initial reaction to the news that someone was apparently shooting random people for no discernible reason, a la the “D.C. Snipers”—who truly did choose their victims at random.

But, after it was revealed that the shootings weren’t so random, that all the victims were black men shot while walking down the street, I ruefully wondered if they might also have been wearing hoodies at the time. Apparently, some believe that a black man wearing a hoodie while walking down the street, logically poses a threat to public safety.

Hey, maybe the shooter feared for his life…

Based on the facts of the case, I think the DC sniper was planning to kill his ex-wife and make it appear to be part of a random shooting spree.
