What is a “Shadow a Student Program” at MIT? What is difFerent btw this and Overnight Program?

You don’t spend the night. You go to some classes and eat lunch with a student, get a sense of what daily life is like at MIT. Though it seems this doesn’t extend into the evening, which is unfortunate.

It allows us all the fun of hosting a prefrosh without having to clean or rooms or remind our hallmates to behave themselves.

tooo funny!
Our Jr DS spent the night at a school and got an eyeful—the “host” and suitemates had a party…Lets just say–our non-drinking S crossed that school off the list. If the coach knew what had happened…he would not be pleased…
DS’s friend (girl) has an equally eye opening experience the same weekend at the same university with her hostess–who’s boyfriend spent the night…!

^^^ For the record, I have never heard of anything like this happening at any MIT overnights. Everyone I know takes great steps to make sure that their prefrosh has a good time - significant others are asked to sleep in their own beds, hallmates are asked to keep drinking / debauchery to a minimum, and prefrosh are definitely never, EVER offered alcohol or drugs.

Is the Shadow program only for kids who have been admitted?

Ditto to k4r3n2’s response

== Karen’s response

Haha, I wasn’t really offered any, but it was definitely there for the taking at the house I stayed at. I didn’t take any, but one of the other prefrosh that weekend did
