Happened on the show last night and had the “is this for real” moment. Then did the old Google and found that it kinda was. Persian/Jews now dominating Beverly Hills and living the dream.

[‘Shahs of Sunset’ stirs concerns among Iranian Americans - Los Angeles Times](<a href=“http://articles.latimes.com/2012/mar/08/entertainment/la-et-shahs-of-sunset-20120308]'Shahs”>'Shahs of Sunset' stirs concerns among Iranian Americans)

I read the article and it didn’t say anything about any group(s) “dominating” Beverly Hills. Curious where you found a statement to that effect.

The “MTV Now Casting” article says that over 60% of the students at Beverly Hills high are Persian, and the mayor is Persian.

It’s interesting that the Jewish Persians who were forced out of Iran in 1979 identify as Persians rather than Jews and are doing so well.

In the show they refer to themselves as either and sometimes both. But mostly Persian as that is pretty much the angle for the show. Is anyone going to watch or suggest a show called “Rich Jews of LA”? Don’t think so.
I was not familiar with the fact that a large number of Jews fled Iran back in the 70’s so the entire thing was a little confusing until I used the Google and got the whole story. They seem to be very proud of being both Persian and Jewish.

They wouldn’t really want to call the show “Rich Iranians of LA” either. :)

Regardless what they call it…I tried to watch it…YUCK!
Just not for me, and I can toeralte some pretty bad reality TV :-)
