Shallow question!

I know how horrible this is to be thinking about when thinking about college, but I have a question regarding the Cornell school of hotel administration, or hotel administration in general for that matter. Is this a lucrative field? In other words are graduates successful (financially) when juxtaposed to other business fields that college grads might go into if just majoring in business?

lol how is that a “horrible” or “shallow” question? there’s nothing wrong with wanting to know how much a graduate from a certain college would be making.

I actually want to know the answer to this question also.

yeah I know, but I know I should be concerned mostly with getting a good education, but I guess if I am intending to go into business why shouldn’t I be concerned with how much money I make? I mean, it is a pretty key part to one’s life…meh, regardless, somebody please answer.

Hey, I think that link is to like hotel floor managers, not sure if that is what you end up doing after going to college for it…

“Manages all aspects of the hotel property including operations, staffing, and customer satisfaction. Oversees property maintenance and appearances. Monitors all operating costs, budgets, and forecasts. May require a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and at least 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management.”

That’s the description that went with the link I gave you. It appears that the only tier above them is top management, which I didn’t see stats for.

The only waau you get rih is opening your own hotels! A few grads get consulting jobs at good firms which is the highest paying coming out.

hm, do Cornell Hotel Administration people ever get to “top management”?

I would assume so.

So I guess it is similar to pretty much any business
