I need to vent….went and got my taxes done yesterday and was really excited to finally be able to get some benefit from having a kid in college. I was not able to get any financial aid from the government so I thought I was finally getting a tax break with the school deduction…NOT…was told I make too much money to take the credit. are you f#$%ing kidding me? Single mother, teacher and not allowed to take the school deduction?!! Not happy…
Singles get double screwed, first on the asset protection on the FAFSA, then on the income limit on the AOTC. I have two tuitions, and don’t get to double anything except the amount I pay out.

Anyone who thinks a BA in theater isn’t challenging or time consuming, my daughter just finished a 22 page honor’s paper on the Living Theatre for her final. So pleased with the education she is getting a her small LAC 
Just got a call from my S who saiid “you won’t believe this; I’m a junior.” A senior if he were getting a muggle degree. 2 years just flew by!
I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone… as each year passes it becomes clearer and clearer that my daughter will be an east coaster now for life 
You never know. I kind of hope son figures out a way to start out in Chicago and become a mid-coaster
My S is starting in Chicago…but may have designs on LA eventually.
