Hi!
I’m working with a student who wants to become a Flight Attendant. We are trying to figure out her path to get there. Money is an issue, so we are thinking that she should attend our local community college, try to get a job at the airport near the college, and transfer to a state university majoring in Communications/PR.

In that ad, it requires that the person be 21. So clearly doing something in the mean time would be good!
Studying another language, like spanish, would be good since there may be people who speak that language on the plane. Getting a job in customer service would also seem to be useful. Courses in public speaking also useful.
But your plan seems like a good one.

She needs to apply for the position with each airline. They conduct their own FAA approved training. There is no education (other than a GED) required. It’s very specialized training. My best friend from high school followed that path and just retired after 30 years of flying the friendly skies!
