"shelf life" of undergraduate work for non-trad applicants

How long is undergraduate work valid for after graduating?

I mean for those non-traditional applicants who apply for med school in their 30s, etc.

Just about forever. I guess this a positive to some and a huge negative to others. It follows you whether you want it to or not. Texas has an “Academic Fresh Start” program but I think it requires you to be out of school like a decade.

a similar question was asked on SDN and one poster pointed out that a small handful of schools want you to retake courses if you are more than 5 years out of college. i haven’t seen anything of the sort but of course i wasn’t looking for it since i didn’t have to worry about it
