Shipping a Package Ahead

I tried looking online, but I couldn’t really find any information, so I thought the parents might now.

I am graduating in about a week, and I am moving about 250 miles away from my school. I am moving to New York. I do not yet have an apartment, but I am going up to New York after graduation to view the possible choices that I found, and I will take one of them.

The only problem is my stuff. My parents are helping me with some, but our car is too small, and bringing them home and shipping them after I get an apartment is not really an option for reasons I won’t go into here.

My question is, can I ship stuff ahead to New York? Is there a shipping service through which I can get a P.O. box online? I looked at USPS, but they say to apply at a local post office. Plus, their shortest rent term is 6 months, which is too long and too expensive. I am looking to spend no more than $20, since cost is already through the roof on shipping.

I would appreciate any help!

Check out the UPS Store or ParcelsPlus. They may provide this service.

I did try to check UPS, FedEx out, but I can’t find any concrete information. I am wondering if maybe someone has done it before.

Try this link to the UPS mailbox services.

Thanks! I actually found that exact same page, but there is no info on how to apply for it online/over the phone, and I can’t come up to New York before I need to ship the packages.

Go to the locations link on that page, put in NY, NY for city and state; you will get a list of locations of specific stores which include phone numbers, click on the store number link and you will get a link to specific store e-mail contact.
I’m reasonably sure you can set up the address/account with a credit card. Just make the contact.

Best of luck.
