This guide was published as part of the Harvard Financial Aid Initiative to assure lower-income students that they, too, can thrive at what is fundamentally an upper-middle-class institution. I just came across it today and found it very helpful in assuaging my anxieties. Check it out.

The guide wasn’t designed just for admitted students. Part of its purpose is to let low-income applicants know that they can have a fun and fulfilling time at Harvard without tons of pocket money.
