short answer meaningful activity

The prompt asks for the activity, interest or experience most meaningful to you and to explain why.

Well, I’ve narrowed it down to math team and cross country but I don’t know which one to choose. Is there an advantage of one over the other? I’ve been in math team for 9 years and cross country for 4 years but I like XC more. But I’m afraid that if I talk about XC it will sound cliche (“The lessons I learned help me on and off the field”). Also, I don’t know if XC will be as meaningful as math team over time since I’ve been doing math team for almost a decade! But still, right now, I like XC more…

Any suggestions?

I would write about whichever is really more meaningful to you. It is going to sound better and more sincere if it is something that is really important to you. While sports can sometimes be cliche, just make sure that you really talk about the tiny details that make it special, no sweeping generalities. Same thing goes for math team if you decide to do that, focus on the personal things, not the general.

Good luck!
