Short Answer Questions

So I’ve been working on short answer questions for several colleges and have a few questions:

  1. For a prompt like "How have you been a leader?" should I talk about multiple instances where I have exhibited leadership or focus on one activity/moment? (around 150-200 words)
  2. For prompts that do not indicate a word limit, about how long should my response be?
  1. I think for such a short response, one instance would be better. Or you could write about one thing you always do as a leader, or something that is important to you as a leader. For example, if the idea of taking time to listen to those you're leading is important to you, then you could write about why and give examples of different areas where you do that.
  2. I think 250 to 500-600 words is a good range, depending on what the prompt is.

Thank you so much!

One more question- if there is a 50-100 character limit for a question, the response can be a fragment, right? Or do I have to make it a complete, but short, sentence?

I think it should be a complete sentence unless it says otherwise. You could always ask the college in question.
