Aristophanes (Greek poet) and 50 cent. lol

robert lafollette and william mckinley

gandhi and adam smith

Plato and Karl Marx; plus a major monarch like queen elizabeth. Let’em argue over government…

i hated this question!! argh. not going to share. loll.

Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds. Steroids in Major League Baseball. Oooohhhh yeah.

Herbert Spencer (came up with Social Darwinism) and Bono from U2 to discuss poverty across the world.

FDR defending Bush’s detention of “enemy combatants” with out arraignments against the arguments of John Stuart Mills (he wrote ON LIBERTY)

Georgie Bush and the historical Jesus.

carson kressley (the guy from queer eye) and hitler, to debate uniformity versus individuality

i wrote about jesus and prophet mohammad and the religious strife going on in the world

James Watson and Pope John Paul II

I wrote about Jesus and Thomas Jeffereson to see what they each thought about Church&State issue. Also, if either of them were OK with the things carried out in Christianity’s name (Like most of W’s Presidency).

my friend wrote about Ben Franklin and John Ashcroft. Ben Franklin said that a person willing to “give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” They would prolly have a good discussion about the patriot act.

I also despised this question. I picked JK Rowling and Pope Benedict (the new one) to discuss the accusations that Rowling, among others, spreads witchcraft to her readers and is bewitching children’s minds to follow the Devil. I pointed out that the Pope has never read the books, Rowling is a Christian, and I forgot to mention that the Pope doesn’t give much credit to children if he thinks we’re all bewitched by the Devil so easily.

I would have Mahatma Gandhi and President Bush debate whether an outside source could ever successfully turn a totalitarian government into a democracy. Considering difficulties the US has had enforcing democracy in Iraq, can democratic reform only be successfully achieved when the people of the country lead the reform?

Susan B. Anthony vs. Hillary Clinton on modern feminism.

hotpiece101- That Ben Franklin quote is one of my favorite quotes in the world. And Ashcroft happens to be the bane of my existence (aside from Cheney, that chicken who ran away to a hole when the country needed him). Awesome choices on the part of your friend.

On the political note- I just read a piece on Hilary Clinton, who did confirm that she would be running for both the senate seat in 2006, and the presidential seat in 2008… which was a big shock for me. As much as I love the idea of a woman in office, does anyone else squeamish about the Bush-Clinton families switching the office every couple years? Its basically a trade off, and I don’t know how comfortable I feel about the democracy becoming an oligarchy.

I’m worried about Hillary running for other reasons. If she runs and wins democratic nomination dems will lose and republicans will win. Nation as whole wont accept a female pres. Don’t really want to write a book so I’ll leave it as is. Hillary should not run.

i told my friend that it was a really good idea. i’m so jealous i didn’t think about it…
