just wondering what people put for the short answere question: “You can bring together two people from any two periods in history to debate an issue of our time. What issue would you have them discuss, and who would they be?”

i think its an awesome question…so i wanted to see who everyone chose (im a history geek, humor me) and what is everyone planning on majoring in? Im hopin for psychology, maybe minoring in history (possibly european)

i did something stupid about the legal/business/artistic issues surronding file sharing of music…gahh i can’t remember what historical figure i used to debate the founder of napster. it wasn’t very good. 50 words isn’t very much to be able to make something like that very interesting. but i guess that’s the point.

i just did mine…thomas jefferson and queen elizabeth the first…im not putting my issue cuz i dont want comments (and im greedy and dont want anyone to steal it lol) anyway…still wanna hear everyone elses comments!

I chose Henry Ford and the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson, because I think they both represented such contrasting values that serve as emblems of America.

That’s so funny! I wrote about Ted Williams and Babe Ruth as well, but for a very different reason. My answer may come across as being too “cute,” but I said I would bring those two ballplayers back because in my house, my father and me spend countless hours arguing about relatively insignificant baseball statistics and facts. I figured that if I brought Williams and Ruth back to life, they could end any of our debates, which would certainly create more rest in my househould. :)

Eh, I did really bad on this particular short answer. I couldn’t come up with a good idea after weeks of thinking. I think my best short answer was the 4th one where you had to come up with an original question. I put, “We have all curiously scoped out a car plastered with bumper stickers that advocate certain beliefs and values, warn fellow drivers, or simply deliver a chuckle at red lights. Tell us about a bumper sticker you would stick on your car and the significance of its message.”
