Short essays; info with good grammer or memorable??

<p>What are adcoms looking for with these short answer Qs? Is it a direct answer with proper punctuation and grammer? Or, do they want originality; something memorable in just a few sentences?</p>

<p>I'd shoot for both, plus accurate spelling.</p>

<p>A dean at UChicago once remarked that these short answer questions are often more useful to the adcom than the long essays, because applicants tend to reveal more about themselves. Use these little answers as a chance to tell the adcom interesting things about you that they will not learn from your grades, letters of recommendation, EC's, or longer essays.</p>
