Those are both really pretty. I think I like the Travelsmith one better, the sleeves seem a little longer, which makes it just a tad more expensive looking to me (which it is, actually). thanks!
They have them with crew neck, scoop neck and V neck, and they come relaxed and fitted. I only get the crew neck fitted, in both short and long sleeves. I must own 15 of them.
I hate the boatneck. I don’t think it looks good with blazers, either. My crew necks have a thin band at the top- not like a guy’s t-shirt with the wide band.
I like both, but think that a scoop neck can be dressier than a V. Select based on what looks best under your blazer/vest/sweater and what looks best with the necklace/scarf you are bringing. I happen to love the fabric and fit of the Karina tee from Chicos.
V’s for me, to elongate my neck, but getting back to the advice in the ehow piece linked on post #3: I’m supposed to take advice from an article that shows a school teacher wearing a top with cleavage? Yeesh. I’m built so that most v-necks will show no cleavage; on D, they all will, so she has to avoid them for many circumstances.
MommaJ, really? If you look around, many fashion advice sites would say the same: v neck for round faces, more rounded neckline for elongated faces. No one is telling schoolteachers to parade around like the Kardashians. I don’t believe that every v neck will reveal cleavage on your D. There are plenty v neck tops that don’t show cleavage - I speak from my personal experience (of a woman with larger chest working in a more conservative field).
If your D has a round face and wears a large bra size, round necked tops will make her look even more top heavy. A good compromise is a tank layered under a different color V neck top. Conservative and stylish at the same time. I wear my wrap dresses this way all the time.
VH, actually, some people cant tell what kind of face they have until they try eyeglasses. You probably have some idea what clothes do not make you look good. And you most likely know what kinds of frames make you look bad. There are pretty much 4 basic shapes and their variants: http://www.sunglasshut.com/us/sunglasses-trends/shop-by-face-shape
This is a fun thread. What neckline is best for three chins? Lol.
I like scoop neck Ts to wear with necklaces and scarves and jackets. If I’m going very casual, I like v necks. I can’t wear Boat necks as my shoulders are too narrow and they annoyingly fall off one side all day long.
